TOMORROW is Artists’ Sunday! Two new collections drop tomorrow at 9 am MT! Come see “The Unattainables” Collection, a series of “still-lifes” of the things Americans hoarded during the early days of the pandemic AND “When We Were Birds” Collection, a series of mini-bird portraits that come with individual wooden easels, reminding us of our nature, when we were birds and rose to sing in the world.

6 x 6 inch oil on canvas in raw maple floating frame.

Using fish to represent us, this painting is superficially a reflection on the emotions felt when the rapid rise in infections abated and restrictions loosened this past summer. I have come to realize that this painting is about so much more.

So much art has been created about breathing in the wake of both COVID and George Floyd's death. So many times this year, I have felt like I was holding my breath, and then suffocating as I realized I could not remain hidden in the depths, silent, unseen, fearful and distraught.  This piece reflects on the experience of coming up for air, I pray that it inspires you to speak your truth, be seen, and to be brave, even when your voice quivers.
